Media Montage Podcast 70: Operation Paperclip - Nazis in America

World War II ended and all the Nazis were brought to justice in the Nuremberg trials, following the war. Or were they? History is full of examples of escaped Nazis being captured long after the war was over.

What about the ones that were brought to America? By the Americans?

US Intelligence operations that brought former Nazi scientists, and others, to work IN and FOR the US during the Cold War. We talk about characters like Werner Von Braun, Reinhard Gehlen and other Nazis who became key figures in post-war American history.

How and why did this happen, and how did the actions in the past affect the world of today? Find out in Episode 70 of the Media Montage Podcast!

and from 1988's Key Lime Pie, here is Camper Van Beethoven doing Jack Ruby:

What other songs detail or reflect on this paradigm shifting event? Let us know in the comments!
