Media Montage Podcast 70: Operation Paperclip - Nazis in America

World War II ended and all the Nazis were brought to justice in the Nuremberg trials, following the war. Or were they? History is full of examples of escaped Nazis being captured long after the war was over.

What about the ones that were brought to America? By the Americans?

This week Bruce and Larry look at Operation: Paperclip and some of its cousins. US Intelligence operations that brought former Nazi scientists, and others, to work IN and FOR the US during the Cold War. We talk about characters like Werner Von Braun, Reinhard Gehlen and other Nazis who became key figures in post-war American history.

How and why did this happen, and how did the actions in the past affect the world of today? Find out in Episode 70 of the Media Montage Podcast!

Supplemental: Happy Birthday Jack Kirby!

Today would have been Jack Kirby's 96th birthday, so to acknowledge the King of Comics influence here are some interviews both in text, and video. Enjoy!

Also, there is a compiled series of interviews that lasted a few years that covered Jack's life during WW2 which is a really interesting aspect of the man. Never know he cussed that much. The interview can be read HERE.

Long live the King!
